Our focusing on life prompt from sally http://thestudiosublime.com was green. Back in the spring when everyone else was showing flowers I still had several feet of snow so I am glad that I get to show some of my flowers now. First up is the peony bush that is right next to the house. The buds are coming right along and I will have flowers soon. They are so fragrant I can hardly wait. My favorite chair is next to the widow that is above that bush. Next up is my bleeding heart. I think they are so beautiful. The blooms are so complex and delicate. Right next to the bleeding heart are my lilies of the valley. They were my husbands birth month flower. Another wonderful fragrance. I have several varieties of hostas. Isn't the green with the white edges interesting to look at? Last is my rhubarb. I made strawberry rhubarb jam last week. I found it very interesting to look at all the texture in the green around my yard. Minnesota sure is beautiful in the summer. I am really enjoying this challenge very much. It is fun getting to know some of the other jewelry artists better. I appreciate everyone's comments each week. Thanx. Please check out what everyone else is posting at Sally's link above.

I love lily of the valley's, they do smell amazing.
ReplyDeleteLily of the valley kind of take over when you plant them but that works for me as my gardens are kind of natural and messy.
DeleteBecky so glad you've finally got green coming in all throughout your yard! Lilly of the Valley is my very favorite! When I was in Finland they grew wild everywhere as ground cover ... sweet smells everywhere!
ReplyDeleteCynthia it sure feels good to have a couple of summery days. It has been cold and rainy mostly. I bet that lily of the valley would make great ground cover. I know they spread fast.
DeletePeonies are one of my very favorite flowers. I love all the different shades of green in the garden!
ReplyDeleteThanx Annette. I am going to have to tie up the peony today because if I don't it takes over the sidewalk.
DeleteYour garden is marvelous, and just in case you have any extra of that jam, can send you my address. LMK, LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanx Marlene. I enjoy the summer flowers. Strawberry rhubarb is the only kind of jam I make.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! I love lily of the valley - so shy, and so fragrant!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week :)
Thanx Claire. Shy is a good way to describe lily of the valley. The flowers are so delicate . They make me think of a young girl picking them for some reason.
DeleteI love all the green in your yard! The green and white of the hostas really is so pretty. But that rhubarb,....yummy! Feel free to send of jar of that jam my way any time girl! My mouth is now watering,....
ReplyDeleteThanx Shel. The beautiful greens of summer are part of why we endure winter around here. Strawberry rhubarb jam is my favorite and you can't buy it so I make it. Besides if I make it myself I know what is in it.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful! Peonies are so fragrant. Love it when I find a perfume which uses peonies. Enjoy your blooms!
ReplyDeleteThanx Tamara. I will enjoy my peonies fragrance every time I open the window above them.
ReplyDeleteWonderful garden shots! I love love love peonies and lily of the valley. The rhubarb here was done earlier than usual and I'm missing it.
ReplyDeleteThanx Janet. My rhubarb seems to be later than most around here. I am not sure why. I know I enjoy it when it is here.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are quite the gardener. I am always envious o those with green thumbs, as I do not. I am especially partial to peonies and would to have a seat overlooking them.
ReplyDeleteThanx Mary. My gardens grow because I put cow manure in them. Most serious gardeners don't have weed but mine do. I set on my porch most days for a few minutes and I can see the peony when I am there. It is right under the window where I sit most of the time so I get to smell them when I open my window.
ReplyDeleteI have all those smae plants growing in my yard. I'm in WI, where in MN are you?
ReplyDeleteHi Donna I am in east central Mn.
ReplyDeleteMy Peonies usuallydon't flower think it's too wet... it's too something anyway they don't like it here! Love the smell of lily of the valley!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn I do know that if you keep the ants off of the peonies they don't flower. My boss did that one year. I love the lily of the valley smell too.
ReplyDeleteLove the beautiful flowers and their green leaves. And I love rhubarb!!
ReplyDeleteThanx Beti, It feels good to finally have some summer weather and the plants can tell too. We had rhubarb in our yard when I was growing up so I have had it all my life and I enjoy it.
DeleteI was in the snow with you when the others were posting flowers! :-)I'm so thrilled that spring/summer has finally arrived and we have the beautiful things to show for it. Love your flowers! Peonies are one of my favourites, as is rhubarb. Jam...mmmmm!!
ReplyDeleteThanx Lori.I can hardly wait for the peonies to open so I can smell them. Yes rhubarb jam is a favorite of mine too.
