Good morning. I am participating in Sally Russick's "Focusing on Life: 52 pictures." http://thestudiosublime.com/ Sally's prompt this week was give yourself permission to take time off and do something for yourself. My first thought was to polish my fingernails. My husband & I restored & customized classic cars for more than 20 years so painted nails never lasted even 1 day. For many years that would have been a real treat. Since my boys are grown and on their own I now have time for me whenever I want. What pleases me best is making jewelry so that is what I posted a pic of. My word this year is achieve so practicing my art is the best way to achieve my goals. Last week Bill Zhang of www.znetshows.com  contacted me about designing pieces with their sea glass. If any of my pieces are chosen they will be displayed at the Tucson bead show and I will be credited. They will also appear on their website. I am jumping up and down happy. This is the first piece I designed for them. I hope they like it.

    1. Thanx Patti. I started out to put the ceramic pendant with some of the yellow sea glass but, it just didn't look good so I tried the orange and I liked it.

    1. I agree. My life was not like this for very long so I have been indulging myself lots lately. I spent my Christmas money from Mom on some new jewelry tools. I see some new jewelry designs coming soon.

  13. Your necklace is gorgeous!!!! I love the summery colors. I once had a job where I filed a lot and also sorted the mail. I never was able to keep my nails looking nice so I quit using polish and rarely use it now. It seems like a lot of trouble to go through with a base coat, dry, polish, dry, top coat, dry.......

    1. Thanx, I'm proud of what I made. I agree I would rather make jewelry than paint my nails so that is what I did.

  18. Congrats on being asked to submit pieces. I love the color combination of the necklace you created during some 'you" time. I think we all could use a little more time to ourselves!

  19. Creating jewelry is my favorite thing to do too. The selling part is not so much. So I can quite relate why you would dedicate it to "your free time" Doing your nails make the out side of you look prettier, creating art beautifies your spirit and your inside , I guess. Your necklace is beautiful I hope it be chosen. Also, thank you so much for visiting my blog. see you again. Dita.

  21. Becky, it's great that you were able to relax and get some jewelry made at the same time. I think I over-think my designs sometimes instead of relaxing and just letting them flow.
There's just something so sublime about turquoise and orange together and your necklace is the perfect example of how well they work.

  22. Thanx Hope, I'm glad that you like it. I started out to put the yellow with the turquoise but it just didn't pop so I played with the beads and this necklace came out of it.
