One of my blog readers asked for a close up of my first metalwork so here it is. I realize that they are crude but I think that I did ok for a first effort. The large copper flower veining was done with a screwdriver. The large brass flower I used a centerpunch for the spots. I patinaed them with  sandalwood gilders paste and then sanded with 600 sandpaper after they were dry. I drew the patterns for the flowers and there are different numbers of leaves in the flowers.I still need to seal them before I will use them in my design.

    1. Adrienne, You are welcome. I thought your display had a good mix of height and was fun and bright looking. If you get a chance to go to a bead retreat please do so. It is wonderful to attend one.

  2. I'm so glad to "see" them up close! Thank you for taking the time to do this. The flowers are lovely! The wonderful thing about metal and specially handmade metal art is that the "crudeness" (to use your word) is actually one of the best characteristics about each piece and serve to make each piece unique. Great work!!
