Week 11 of Sally Russick's focusing on life 52 pictures finds us exploring "the possibilities are endless". Sally's blog is http://thestudiosublime.com/ if you would like to check out what everyone else posted.
This weekend found me at UMBS spring bead retreat. Retreats are always so fun. You learn new techniques and get to bounce ideas off lots of other people who are interested in the same thing you are. I was able to give advise and get inspiration for my bead soup piece when what I had planned didn't work out well. The possibilities are truly endless at bead retreats because there is so much positive energy there. There is no place I would rather be. I am late posting because internet did not work well at the retreat so I am posting now that I am home. I want to thank Sally for getting me to look more seriously at my life. I also want to thank everyone who left comments on my blog. I really appreciate all of you taking the time to look at my blog. It makes me feel wonderful when other bead artists like my jewelry.

what fun! I haven't done a retreat (yet) but I'd like to!! it would be so much fun to bead with a group :)
ReplyDeleteThanx Cynthia, It was really fun. There is so much positive energy in the room. Ideas flow back and forth and impromptu classes spring up as people say can you show me how to do that? I come home from retreat recharged.
ReplyDeleteOh, I would LOVE to have that opportunity! There is no local bead group in this area...AND I usually work weekends, so pretty much out of the question...but how fun!
ReplyDeleteThanx Lori, It's something I have waited for, for awhile. I have to travel 1 1/2 hours to my bead group but it is so worth it. I have learned a lot and made many new friends there. Everyone is so supportive.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a wonderful time and found endless possibilities and inspiration. I would love to attend a sewing retreat someday.
ReplyDeleteThanx Annette, I did have a wonderful time. It's hard not to when there is so much positive bead energy in the room.
DeleteA creative retreat, specially a BEAD retreat is simply one of the most fun things EVER!! New beady friends, new techniques learned and hopefully new beads going home with you too :-)
ReplyDeleteI attended the first "Bead Bash" in Estes Park, CO, sponsored by Interweave Press and had a fantastic time. It looks like you certainly did as well!
Thanx for commenting on my post Debi.It was indeed a wonderful weekend at the retreat . Of course new beads came home, LOL. This was my second retreat and I will attend more.
DeleteA bunch of jewelry makers in one time is always a guaranteed fun fest! Love your first metal pieces in your last post, and your creative use of the screwdriver for texturing your metal!
ReplyDeleteThanx Patti, I had a wonderful time and I'm already looking forward to the next one. I really appreciate someone else likeing my work.
