Focusing on Life: Centerpiece

Our focusing on life this week is centerpiece. Sally asked us to show what is "the central, most important feature of your day, week, life! It makes you comfortable, gives you joy, brings you peace of mind. Or is simply a place of comfort." For me it is my beadwork. Beads are all of that and more to me.There are very few days when I don't spend some time beading. I have a piece of plywood with foam on the edge (so it is easy on my arms) and a fabric cover. It sets on a rollable 3 drawer cart. The cart sits in front of my lazyboy chair. The board lifts easily to sit across the chair arms. Beads are the center of my life right now. When one project is done I start on the next. I love doing beading challenges. I'm showing the back of the piece I am working on so that the person who is receiving it doesn't get to see it until it arrives at her house. 1. The board is a wonderful idea! I have a lap desk, on which I write/draw when sitting at my proper desk gets too much...
    Great overhead shot :)

  5. Lovely idea for a board! And, great centerpiece as well. Bead/Jewelry is a main focus and source of comfort for me, too - not sure what I'd do with out them. Sort of like my family. :-)

    1. Thanx Shel. I have always been creative but never as much as with my beads. Jewelry seems to combine elements from all of the creative stuff that came before.I too would be lost without them.

  6. I do my beadwork in an embroidery hoop that I have added a piece of bead mat that I can carry from place to place, but basically the same idea as your. I like to work on the couch. I love how bead work brings such peace, joy and comfort.

  8. Hi Becky! Thanks for sharing the "center" of your days....it is awesome that you get to find time daily to work on your beadwork. I enjoyed a peek into your set-up, as beading with the tiny beads seems like a different world to me. :-)

  9. Hi Cindy I enjoy sharing what I do. Bead embroidery is my favorite thing to do. I like starting with a blank canvas and turning it into something beautiful.
