Focusing on life: Looking up

Focusing on life week 29 has us looking up. Sally at http://thestudiosublime.com/ prompted up  with looking up. This is my bedroom lampshade.I think it is so beautiful. I would call it art deco but I am not sure that is correct. From the moment I saw it I thought it would make a beautiful pin out of metal clay with a crystal at the center. Last week I ordered some sheet silver clay and I am finally going to try and make it happen.

  1. First .... you are so brave to take a picture of your ceiling! Shel and I were just commenting on not wanting to capture the cobwebs we have - ha! But that is one gorgeous shade ... I love the old ones like this. I think I would call it Art Deco based on the geometric design and the pink color (one of the Moxie colorways)

    1. Thanx Lynn I have been fascinated by my lampshade for a long time. I have a small collection of pink glass on my dresser. Old things really had style that a lot of modern stuff is missing.

  8. Thanx Debi. I have not done metal clay so I'm probably attempting something difficult right from the start. I guess that is how I work, I never did want to do the simple projects. LOL

  9. It's lovely. My grandmother had one like that. I'm in the cobweb club too - with 18' ceilings there isn't much I can do about them

  10. Like Cynthia remarked: you're brave (I join her and Shel in not wanting to show anybody the darling spiders :) ). That being said: you have a gorgeous shade there! Can't wait to see the pin when you make it - please share :)
